| Where did you live before coming to our area? |
Moved from Portland Oregon to Colorado. Before that lived in South Carolina and Pennsylvania. |
| Why are you interested in animals? |
I've always been interested in animals and have worked with them since my first job in high school. The love people have for their pets and those relationships really improves the quality of our lives, and I have always wanted to nurture that relationship. Working with animals allows me to do that. |
| What are your favorite animals to work on? |
Dogs |
| Do you have any amazing or funny stories to tell about working with animals? |
Not yet, I've just begum my career working with animals this year. |
| Why did you become a veterinarian nurse? |
I originally wanted to go to veterinary school but realized that was not my path so became an acupuncturist for humans. After becoming an acupuncturist and witnessing the tremendous benefit both acupuncture and herbal medicine have on people. I really wanted to be able to bring that to animals. Also exposing owners to it as well. |
| What are your favorite things about being a veterinary nurse? |
Seeing animals go home better off than they were when they came in and knowing I was a part of that happening. |
| What are your favorite things about working at Boulders Natural Animal? |
Being a part of bringing holistic integrated care to animals and seeing how well they respond to it—with acupuncture and natural medicine. Humans they can make so many excuses to negate its validity (i.e.: the placebo effect). Animals can’t do that, so it is a constant reminder of its effectiveness and power. |
| Tell us about your pets and your family. |
I have 2 dogs—Hazel a 10 year old Golden Retriever mix who is the sweetest dog ever! And a 1 ½ years old Basset Hound who is the cutest, but gets into everything! I also have a cat named Leon. Atman is my fiance. We are getting married in September. |
| Do you have any hobbies? |
Golf, knitting, hiking, movies, camping. |
| What sports do you like? |
Golf; hiking. |
| What do you want people to know about you that is really really cool? |
I am also an acupuncturist. |
| Did you go to tech school? If so where and are you certified? |
Bel Rea. I am taking my certification exam soon. |
| What are your goals in life? |
To have a career that is rewarding and to start a family where everyone is happy and healthy. |
